I engaged in a project with a young immigrant living in Brussels. Amid his undefined identity, he harbored a strong admiration for the masculinity portrayed by the media and global corporations, yet his desires were never fulfilled. I have represented the latent pain generated by his repeated small frustrations, through the fruits sold in Brussels. By overlapping his existence with the delicate fruits produced in a different land and consumed in the city, I contemplated the complex relationship between the impact of migration and the forces driving it.

ブリュッセルに住む移民の青年と関わり制作をした。彼はアイデンティティの定まらぬ中、メディアやグローバル企業が打ち出す男らしさへの強い憧れをいだくも、その欲望は満たされることはなかった。彼の小さな挫折の繰り返しが生む、潜在的な痛みを、ブリュッセルで売られる果物を通して表象した。別の土地で生産され、都市で消費されるデリケートな果物と彼の存在を重ねることで、移動がもたらす影響と移動をもたらす力の複雑な関係を考察した。
