These three video works are initiated from my engagement with a young Moroccan man who approached me in Brussels. I sensed that for him, wearing high-end brands like HUGO BOSS and portraying a strong image to others was of utmost importance. Contrary to the masculinity and attitude he actively sought to embody, there were instances when his inner insecurities and naivety emotions would unexpectedly surface. The title, "T'es content d'avoir passé une journée avec moi?" ("Are you happy to have spent a day with me?"), stems from something he said to me while leaving, revealing his excessive concern about my enjoyment during our time together. I superimposed the image of fruit deteriorating over time onto the notion of something being consumed to maintain masculinity.

この三つの映像作品は、ブリュッセルで私に話しかけてきたモロッコ人の青年との関わりを契機とする。ハイブランドの服(HUGO BOSSなど)を着込むことや、他人に対して自分を強く見せることは、彼にとって非常に重要なことなのだと感じた。彼が能動的に纏おうとする男らしさや態度に反して、不意に、彼の内面の不安やナイーブな感情が現れることがあった。タイトルの”T’es content d'avoir passé une journée avec moi ?”(君は 僕と一緒に一日を過ごしてよかったですか)は、ある日、彼が去り際に私に言った言葉で、私が楽しんでいるかを過度に気にしていることが表れていた。男らしさを維持するために消費される何かを、痛んでいく果物のイメージに重ねた。
