Factory worker "K"

This artwork was created after my encounter with K, a factory worker who has dedicated over 20 years of his life to a major tile manufacturer in Japan.
Throughout our interviews, K shared his experiences of being born and raised in the town where the factory is located, the challenges of having limited work opportunities in the area, and his current life as a factory worker. As I listened to the recordings of our conversations, certain phrases and words resonated with me, compelling me to temporarily adopt K's perspective to explore the deeper meaning behind his words and expressions. While mulling over his words, I kept shifting the tiles representing his weight from right to left. The lack of oxygen left me feeling disoriented and dazed. However, amidst the strange exhilaration, I felt a sense of being outside of myself for a little while.
